We’re proud to support PETA’s campaign (link below) that is urging the government to scrap the meat mandate in schools.
PETA has timed the launch of its petition to change School Food Standards in England with the government’s review of the standards.
The aim is to remove caterers’ obligation to serve meat, dairy, fish and eggs which, as long as pupils’ nutritional needs are met, will lead to more choice and flexibility being available to caterers.
The move, which is also supported by Sir Paul McCartney, has been made to “help the planet, spare animals, and promote healthy eating.”
