We’re proud to announce that the sell-out KFC Vegan Burger, nicknamed ‘The Imposter’ and made with a unique Quorn Vegan Fillet, has been handed the PETA award for Best Vegan Chicken at the organisation’s eighth annual Vegan Food Awards.
“The KFC Vegan Burger surpassed all our expectations when launched last year, selling out within four days of release in the UK. With 1 in 5 Brits cutting down on meat during the COVID-19 pandemic*, now is the perfect time to continue our work in highlighting just how tasty meat free meals can be through collaborations with popular high street food outlets,” says Claire Roper, Head of Foodservice Marketing at Quorn.
“The pandemic has demonstrated that widespread societal change is possible, and that includes the explosive growth in the already booming demand for vegan foods,” says PETA Director of Vegan Corporate Projects Dawn Carr.
“The winners of PETA’s Vegan Food Awards are making it easier than ever to go vegan by dishing up everything from creamy dairy-free ice cream to satisfying vegan fried chicken.”
The KFC vegan burger boasts a bespoke Quorn Vegan Fillet, coated in the Colonel's Original Recipe and topped with fresh iceberg lettuce and creamy vegan mayo, all in a soft glazed bun.
