About

Adding Value

Our work as a Professional team goes further than the deliciously tasty, nutritious meals we help our customers to create as part of their menus. As the meat free market leader, we see it as our responsibility to invest in going the extra mile, helping to educate the next generation of Quorn® consumer and their families whilst supporting a more sustainable planet.

Dedicated team of Home Economists

We have a team of 11 Home Economists who are very proud to work with Quorn and are solely dedicated to delivering food demos, Quorn sampling and tastings, educational workshops and recipe development sessions across each of the channels and customers we work with to support them with their wider health, wellbeing and sustainability programmes.

Inspiring the next generation of chefs

We are the proud sponsors of industry awards, including the Craft Guild of Chefs Innovation Award & B&I StrEATfood Awards, where in many cases entrants are expected to use Quorn to create their signature dish. We work with students at colleges including Weston-Super-Mare College and University College Birmingham on competitions to create Quorn dishes as part of their Level 3 & 4 NVQ and we are currently working on the launch of a study app for Technical Colleges highlighting protein diversity and explaining the role of plant proteins.

National & key date events

We support national campaigns such as World Meat Free Day and National Vegetarian Week as well as customer-specific campaigns around health, wellbeing and sustainability, helping customers to eat healthy meals and drive behaviour change. We provide resources, deliver food demonstrations and offer ongoing chef support to help educate children, young adults and adults across every channel on the benefits to them personally and the planet of adopting a healthier diet and lifestyle.

Sustainability swap

Working with our customers, we make a difference in helping to educate people around the difference that small changes can make to the benefit of health and the environment. We do this by conducting swap trials and events, developing tailored point-of-sale materials that demonstrate the savings of swapping to the meat free alternative of a product or a dish. In only two hours across the NHS hospitals that supported the 2016 Quorn ‘Sausage Swap’ and ‘Sustainable Dish of the Day’ (where pork sausages or beef mince dishes were replaced with Quorn) we are estimated to have saved approximately 348,000 calories, 14kg of saturated fat, 35,000 baths of water and 4,000kg of GHG emissions as well as providing an additional 9kg of dietary fibre!

It doesn’t stop there

We are also proud to:

  • Have a voice on the Fit and Healthy Childhood All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) which exists to promote evidence-based discussion and produce reports on all aspects of childhood health and wellbeing including obesity.
  • Be a Meals & More partner, supporting more than 65 projects across the country relating to childhood poverty and specifically, holiday hunger.
  • Headline sponsor Compass Group UK & Ireland’s ‘Women in Food Ambassador Programme’ - launched in 2016 to encourage more female chefs into the industry and support their needs.
  • Have supported The Creative Kitchen in Dorset – an educational community kitchen facility for children to learn about nutritious food in a fun and practical environment.
  • Have been instrumental in the development of the award-winning menu at Forest Green Rovers and Ecotricity Schools Outreach, which achieved Vegan Society status in 2017, the first in the world.
